There's no such thing as a "tomato fixation" in August. It is the time for gorging on homegrown tomatoes because in another month or two, we will be in the 9 month abstinence.
I'm enjoying about 8 different varieties. This year's best is "Black Krim", a Russian heirloom that looks like a partially ripe tomato but is sooooo sweet and tasty.
