What is your favorite book?
The last one I red was "Shanghai baby" by Wei Hui.
I really adore it.
Unfortunately in opposite to my student times I do not have time any more for reading.

I think I'd have to say my favorite book is The Great Gasby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Although I am a quite fond of Catch-22 by Joseph Heller.

The last book I read was America by Stephen Coonts.

I am currently reading The Teeth of the Tiger by Tom Clancy.

One my favorite books is The Stand by Stephen King. Awesome book, but scares you if you get a cold!
I love the Harry Potter series. I almost wish I had a pensieve, where I could put all my SA memories so they would not haunt me!

"The Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy" or any other book by Douglas Adams. His detective books which involve Dirk Gently and his holistic detective agency are really good. "The Long Dark Tea Time of the Soul".

From home, 'Master and Margarita' by Bulgakov.

American books (or at least, books in English!): I think best one I have read in the last year is 'Long walk to freedom', which is autobiography of Nelson Mandela. Right now, I am reading 'People's history of the United States' by Howard Zinn. Interesting to a foreigner.

I guess I've been a Dicken's fan since first reading him in high school, all these thousand years ago.
I've always felt his stories were my story. Now I feel that his stories are our stories.

Saroyan's, "The Human Comedy," was an early favorite, too.

Harper Lee's, "To Kill A Mocking Bird," and anything by Eudora Welty.

Rawling's, "Sojourner," reminds me of friendships, here.

That wholly remarkable book, as MikeNY say's

"The Hitchikers Guide To The Galaxy"

You read it here first about Ghengis Khan's offspring.

Ive also got it on audio book which is great whilst surfing.

It reminds me not to panic

For when I'm feeling serious,

Jack London - "Call of the Wild" and "People of the Abyss".

George Orwell - "Down and out in Paris and London".

All of these are wonderful and haunting books recording a snapshot in time.
