Yours and two others, Curtis. It has indeed been a while.

These are subjective and thus nominally unreliable. smile

1. I'm a thoughtful person.
2. I see the "big picture" and interrelated events that others may miss.
3. I'm a good husband and father.
4. I haven't lost my sense of humor.
5. I'm a great swimmer.
6. I like to speak in public.
7. I look out for the little guy.

What is good about me?...Not much...I'm a survivor.

Yes I've done a bunch of good stuff with God's help.

It would be an impressive list of stuff I've done out of a blinding sense of pain.

But what I've really done, is that I have survived. Yes. I'm a survivor. Through the pain. Through the abuse.

I was in the Peace Corps and somehow managed to complete 25 months.

Here is a film about Liberia:

I was there from 1962-64. That was many years before the war talked about in this film. Things were very different then. I taught in a school about 90 miles up the road from Monrovia. So, what happened after UN left? The country to my knowledge has remained peaceful.

The teaching environment in the school where I taught was peaceful and free of the harshness seen in this film. Otherwise the people dressed in similar fashion. During the civil war, combatants came through the school and burned it down.

Here is a glimpse of the school where I was a teacher.

Ebola in Liberia? Sadly, yes.
