Hey folks,

Haven't been on much in some time. Not really sure why I'm here now except that I was hoping to find someone to chat with in the chat forum. Since I'm +5 GMT time here (10 hours ahead of NYC), I don't normally have much luck finding anyone on line to talk to after work.

I guess I was hoping for some reassurance that I haven't completely messed everything up. I sit here in bumfuck Tajikistan trying to do some business development work as a part of a USAID funded project and the only thing I'm really accomplishing is getting older.

I'm numb, tired, and with no one to talk to. What I really need is a therapist, but no such luck here, so I keep trying to rope one of you all into some free counseling on the net!

Does anyone know of another site that perhaps caters to a different geographical audience? For the most part I think I'm OK, just in need of some mental hygiene and, perhaps, a decent friend who understand these matters.

Hi Hassan/Patrick:
It must be lonely out there where you don't have a McDonald's on nearly every corner or English-speaking folk all over the place. Working for agencies to help out others is often a tough and lonely job even in the best of times.

Sorry the chat times don't work for you regarding MaleSurvivor topics. I'm sure there are lots of chat times available for other topics on the tons of chatrooms out there. Can't recommend any in particular to you.

Unfortunately, we can't do free therapy on line, even if you paid for it. Unethical and dangerous. However, for what it's worth, post here and get some feedback. Maybe you have something to help another person, maybe somebody can offer something to help you.

It's not the best solution, but when you're half a planet away in a place where 6 out of 10 folks have no idea what continent you are on, it's probably the best you can do.

Hang in there, bro. I feel for you.

stick around, we might not give 'therapy' over the net- but support and friendship we can do.

I can feel so alone when I'm at work and driving my van around during the day on my own, but I always get home at night. Tajikistan it ain't !

The UK sites like HAVOCA have a chat room, and the time difference is less, maybe worth a try ?

Hassan !

You can try in France. Some members speak English, there are quite a few guys there. I am a member (same name) and there is a chat room too + instant post service between members.
You can maybe register and leave your message in English.

Hello Hassan,

I know that a friend of mine home in Russia was attempting to find another site, more conducive to his time period, and was not having success. I hope that some of the suggestions here offered you will be helpful.

I do not go to the chat room at all here, but the message board is 'open' all the time. You are always welcome to post and respond, there is not a time when it is not available to you. I hope you find what you are needing, good luck.

PS. I will mention here, there is a chat room available at If you go to that site, there are multiple chat rooms available on different subjects, and there is one for abuse/incest survivors. As I recall there was almost always at least ONE person there, throughout the day and night. HOWEVER, I will warn you, it is almost an all female chat room, and the experience of myself and another male survivor there was less then positive usually. So, that is an option if you wish to try. I know that he and I were always kind and respectful to the ladies there; but sometime it did not matter, we were still treated poorly and with distrust just from being male gender.
