There's been too much negativity, so it's time to go back to the land of the weird.

In's time once again for......

Pro-Wrestler's in politics (Japan, U.S.)

Ah, yes, the noble Pro-Wrestler. Once, they were considered just above porn-stars in terms of public respect and acceptibility. Now, they're common everywhere, even in the hallowed halls of public service!

This trend was started more than 15-20 years ago, when uber-famous purowresteru ("purewrestling" in Japanese) star Antonio Inoki ran for the House of Councellors in Japan (the Japanese Diet's version of the House of Representatives) under the All-Professional Athletics Party banner. He won, did a great job, and Japan hasn't been the same since. Now, everyone from Hiroshi Hase to the Great Sasuke (that's his official name now - he even fought an impressive battle to keep wearing his wrestling mask while in the House and won) have done time in the Diet. And they've proven to be very effective.

Not to be outperformed, the U.S. has had some fair share of wrestling-politics success, most notably the very-smart Jesse Ventura as governor of Minnesota. And just yesterday in Boston, one of the city's counselors hired a man who wrestled under a hockey goalie mask as Jason the Terrible as one of her aids! Imagine THAT site in the next city council meeting!

Until next week - embrace the odd and funny!

Peace and love,
