I'm upset right now because I keep getting porn stuff sent to my email. Now I have something that says "not legal teens." I'm not going to click it. Is there a smart way to report this and to show exactly what has showed up in my inbox?

I'm not sure if there's a way to report it, but there's a way to get rid of it so you never see it. I used the Filters feature of my e-mail software to filter for certain words and it immediately moves the incoming e-mail to the trash folder. You can probably guess which words to set up, based on the spam you've been getting so I won't embarrass and make myself blush by repeating them here. This greatly cuts down on the trash I see in my inbox. I no longer see spam about enlarging certain parts of my anatomy (already just fine, thank you), getting a mortgage, buying medicines, or seeing anything "drip" from a young chick who's "waiting to hear from me".

sorry, realized that should have been "Off Topic." I really don't want to bug anyone here about this because I can't see anyway of finding out the URL address without clicking the link, and I'm not going to do that. I'll have to think of a friend or family member with the stomach to do it for me. Sorry again.

thanks, EGL! Excellent advice. I still want this one reported to the missing & exploited children site or something. I don't know about the states but I've read the law and here in Canada porn is illegal even if it's obviously trying to depict minors when they're not.

I'll work on those filters.

I can't vouch for this site personally, but it seems to have a good reputation

They have a form you can use to report child porn and forums where you can ask experts about online safely.

The answer to all this stuff is for the authorities to to act. It is not impossible for these posters to be tracked.

You can do it yourself, but it is a bit technical to do it, and because of the flooding of this stuff, you could never be on top of it.

One way to stop it, is by not giving your primary email address out to any site on the internet, even if you are buying innocent things like clothes.

Just give your email to trusted friends and family. make up a hotmail or other account for buying things etc.

Keep your primary email between you and trusted parties and you will never receive this filth.

You should not have to do it, but it is the World we live in,

I use AOL here in the UK which is remarkably good at keeping out spam.

And for the few that do get through I have a "Report Spam" button on my email inbox that reports it directly AOL, and I don't seem to get that same spam again.

I tried a filter, but putting in the key words restricted my access to sites like MS because so many of the same words are used here.
The porn merchants ar every smart though, and will get onto your desktop at every opportunity.

FINALLY, I can help with something! ;\)

I had this problem because of the way I set up my profile in one of the free email zones.

I found out Yahoo's premium account ($29.99 year) allows me to create what are called disposable emails. I never give out my primary email unless it is people I know. I use one of the addresses when I ask for information or register somewhere (I forgot to do it here). That way when the span comes I delete the email and get a new disposable one.

I think it is a good investment.

Yes, that works wonderfully Ian, I have a similar system. My brother registered for a domain name and I can make up anything I want for an email address at that domain for example if I wanted to give Male Survivor my email address I can do If I got spam addressed to, I can email my brother and have him turn off fowarding for Then all email sent will just get returned unknown. So what I'm saying is that the Yahoo Premium service sounds good. Sounds like you can do similar stuff with it.
